I like the app a lot. However, an update with a better variety of music in the Tab store would be great!

This is so sad. This was my go to tab app since it was first published. Now there are too many bugs and is not worth my patience. Stay away from buying this app unless they update it some time soon!!
Does not work with new versions of iOS and hasn't been updated in years. DO NOT BUY
This app is completely unnecessary. The website claims that it will view text tab file formats. The only thing it does is display the text file as a *text file*. You probably already have many ways of doing this, and there are *many* other apps for reading rich formats. If you’re trying to find a good app for viewing text tab files on your iPad or iPhone, look elsewhere.
It looks like the app is no longer supported and hasn’t been updated in years. It’s basically useless now.
App is outdated so i removed my previous review since i believe it may lead to buyers purchase the app that may not work properly on their current version of ios due to it not being optimized.
Finally, I have been in search of an app that could give me what I wanted and I have found the one. You guys have done a great job in giving us the features and simplicity that make an app a success in my book. I have been using a program on my pc but always wanted to something that offered me more and was portable; phone and iPad. I hope others can benefit from this and help their practices. Thanks for your hard work and great app!!
I appreciate that there has finally been an update. Unfortunately there was a new major bug introduced with this version. The bug is when you open up a tab and then exit the tab you are brought back to the top of the list of all of your tabs. In the past when you exit out of the tab you would be in the same position in your list of tabs that you were before. This is a big inconvenience when you have a lot of tabs and would like to maintain the same position in your tabs list that you were in when you enter the tab. Please fix this bug. Also. Will you be updating to 64 bit? If not there is no way to use this app in iOS 11. Please update it. Thank you.
Really only works if you purchase tab from ta toolkit. Poor selection of available songs. You can down load tab from the internet how ever it is hard to do and why bother? Just use your web browser to view it
How do I get the tab I paid for or get my money back? I had created an account during my first tab purchase and while my iTunes was charged the tab did not appear in tab toolkit. Wrote to support and they fixed the problem fast. Thanks Andrey.
Been using the app for a few years and it's served my purpose! However the app could be improved by adding an adjustable scrolling function for the music!
Been using this app on my iPad for years. Don't know what I'd do without it
They make you spend 3.99 to find out it doesn't come with any tabs worth the money. Hard to navigate and there aren't many tabs to offer.
This past May (2016) I paid for tabs, but they would not download. I wrote to Agile and they responded by saying that the app will be updated. And it was, a month later. I still can not download the tabs I paid for. I have been trying repeatedly to resolve this issue. They do not respond to my emails. Very frustrating.
Company out of business doesn't respond to tech support never gets updated. Used to be the best
Tried to buy New Slang in the tab store. They charged me, but it won't download. Nobody will respond to my support requests. Total ripoff, stay away.
Along with minor bug fixes the display is now also optimized for iPhone 6. It was already great on the iPad. Thx Agile. This is by far the best guitar tab app out there.
When iOS devices first hit the scene several years ago this app was hands down the best way to access tabs on them. It has now become completely unusable mostly because both this app and the ultimate-guitar website have effectively blocked content sharing with each other. Nothing good lasts…
This used to be the best tab and notation app period. Now the browser feature to download new tabs appears to be completely buggy and laggy like so many others are reporting. If they get this fixed this is an easy 5 star app. For my purposes it's now unusable because I can't add new tabs for songs I need to learn or help teach. I was super bummed out that this started all of the sudden.
This app used to be great. But the browser within the app is so buggy and slow I can't stand using it anymore.
I started using this app somewhere in like 2009-2010. It's fantastic. It's helped me so much. I just wish that it would be revamped for newer iPhones/operating systems. Also, the in-app browser is garbage. I mostly transfer from the computer, but I just learned that you can use safari to download the tabs, so no real problem there. A revamping would be fantastic.
App itself it pretty good, In fact I was gonna give it 5 stars till I tried to use the web browser to download some tabs. The built in browser is obviously not designed to make it easy downloading tabs from the net… its VERY slow to the point I don’t want to use it at all.
Best 10$ I've ever spent and if your complaining about having problems using the built in browser just use Safari ( just like you normally would) and go to download the tablature file and it will pop up and say "open in tab toolkit" and then works just like normal or using the old built in browser. Seriously I have no problems using it that way at all. Try it guys!!
I used to love this app, but the browser has become completely useless making it virtually impossible to load new tab from the web into the app. I'll move on to a new app.
I bought this app several years ago when the iPad 2 first came out. Back then I would have easily given it five stars but since then the team seems to have stopped updating it. The last major update was version 2, which introduced their tab store, and added updates for the iPhone 4s and iPad 2. The 4s?! That was released in 2011! At least the app still works in the newest iOS versions, but they haven't even updated it to look like it was made recently. Opening up the keyboard or browser still shows the old iOS style, not the flatter look of iOS 7. They haven't even updated the iPhone version for the bigger screen of the 6, and that's been out for over a year. The browser is incredibly slow with ultimate guitar. Not sure if there was some behind the scenes war going on between the two companies over tab access, but it was pretty much unusable until I found out that you could browse the site in regular Safari and just open the tabs in tabtoolkit directly. Basically, the software works, it just feels dated. I still use it a lot but I haven't really come across any better alternatives. They could also work on the presentation of the tabs to make them more legible. I'd like to be able to have the show fretboard/keyboard display a system wide option instead of having to turn it off every time I look at an individual tab. Sometimes I just want to see as much of the music as possible and the extra lines would be helpful. It's also getting difficult to see some of the annotations while I'm playing along. For example the string bend marks are way too small and I don't know why they decided to display them above the staff when all the notations for hammer ons, pull offs, slides, etc are displayed on the fret numbers. It I'm playing along with a song, put all the notation where I'm looking, not in multiple places.
Been using this app for the longest time now. Got the iPhone 6s today and extremely disappointed that is not optimized for it. Otherwise 5 stars.
I absolutely love this app. I've had it since about 7th grade and I'm now in my junior year in high school. The only problem I am reporting is that the screen on TTK will not fit my entire screen on the new IOS 9. (I play mostly technical death metal, and need all 27 frets)
This app was the best in it's class, but now the developer has gotten greedy. Basically you have to pay 99 cents per song which have the possibility of being inaccurate like most tabs are. Trying to download tabs using the built in browser has been made useless, again, by the developer. It takes FOREVER to load the browser pages on my iPhone 6 plus with fast internet connection. On top of that, the auto tab detect doesn't even work half the time like it used to work.
This used to be a great app. For whatever reason it's impossible to view websites through the tab toolkit browser. Sites like ultimate guitar choke. I'm not sure why but this app-- which I paid for-- no longer has any use for me. If you want to browse external sites and save tab find something else.
a few years back i would've rated this a perfect score but now everytime i try to download a rab it keeps lagging... took me an hour to open tab on its browser when it just took seconds on safari. tab works well and opening tabs from other sites is very cool! i have this on both my ipad and iphone and same thing when using the browser on both... i was hoping it would be fixed after a couple downloads but i guess they don't know about it... if ever fixed its a very good tool for musicians everywhere and of every age.
use to be a really good app, but now it's difficult to get tabs and more of a hassle to navigate through ultimate guitar.
This app is great. I have used it extensively with my students. However, browsing the resources on Ultimate Guitar has become so slow it is very painful. I am using an iPhone 6+. I would love to love this great app again. Please fix!!
I have guitar pro 6 on my desktop, and also have the guitar pro app, which I gave a positive review. This app, tabtoolkit is a pretty nice app. It's a player. It has its own tab store, but it will also play any of my guitar pro files. I load them in via Dropbox. Compared to the guitar pro app it holds up quite nicely, and has more realistic sounds overall than the guitar pro app. It also looks nicer. One of the weaknesses I've found is with tremolo strumming. It "ignores" it, and just plays the notes regularly. The company itself must be pretty busy, I wrote with a question about tabtoolkit working with the iRig HD and didn't get a response. But so far so good. I hope they fix the tremolo strumming on both single notes and chords. One nice feature is with the drum tracks, you can watch the drum kit as its being played. Also, I love the slow down "wheel" 1 percent increments. A very useful feature.
It's a good app I suppose but I feel like I wasted my money first 12 songs I searched they didn't have and you have to pay a dollar for every tab. Guitar tabs is way better
I've been using this app for a few years now and I still love it!!!! For all the negative reviews saying it doesn't have enough songs, they don't know how to use this app. There is an in-app web browser and you can download whatever tabs you want. I personally download apps from the website ultimate-guitar and it works perfectly!
Don't buy it. I know what your thinking. "This guy is overreacting." No I'm not. I bought it. I deleted it in 45 seconds. Burning your money is more economical than buying this app.
Kinda wish I’d known how limited the song selection was. Really, there are about 1000 songs here… which sounds like a lot until you see that some of them are old washed-up bands like Meatloaf, America, or Wham. I wouldn’t mind paying for songs I wanted, but I didn’t find a single song that was worth paying for. Added to the problem is that I was mostly interested in the bass lines, and there are only about 600 of those. Compare that to a competitor’s app which advertises about 400,000 songs. Now that’s a playlist!
When you play songs it doesn't sound like a guitar, it sounds like a cheap toy piano. I don't plan to use this app and I wish I could get my money back.
Not sure why there are reviews complaining that this app comes with a few public domain songs to showcase how the app works. You are purchasing a viewer/player similar to Guitar Pro, Power Tab, TuxTab, etc. and not licensing music. It's a solid app that allows you to easily open your existing Guitar Pro and Power Tab format files.
Very limited number of songs come with purchase of this app, so expect to spend .99 for every song you want tab for. Would have been more honest to not include any songs and explain that you pay for each song.
This app is so awesome I use it all the time to learn the drum parts to my favorite songs. It's amazing!
I’ve tried pretty much every drum tab and sheet music app out there for iPad, and this is by far the best. The $0.99 tab store songs are great, though a bit dated (great for me, being a child of the 80s) - but keep in mind you can add your own tabs and sheet music at no cost. On that note, it renders and plays back Guitar Pro files better than Guitar Pro’s own iPad app! (I bought the GP app and still prefer TabToolkit for my GP drum tab files.) My only suggestion for improvement would be to lose the :3000 upload page and instead use the iTunes file manager thing (iTunes -> (ipad) -> Apps -> (click app) -> Manage Files, whatever that’s called), as it’s more convenient to add files to apps from another room if your iPad typically lives on a different floor than your computer. Agile Partners, keep up the great work, and aspiring musicians and hobbyists, give this a download.
I expected SONGS from this century, they're there for an extra .99 cents each. Or you can stick with finger exercises and Beethoven. Really? Beethoven.
Every time I open it it waits for about 20 seconds then crashes on iOS 7
Everything I search for it doesn't have. No Paul Simon. Really!? It's just lame.
I have no clue why people are giving one star reviews. YES there is a tab store where you can buy tabs. But you can easily download tabs from ultimate guitar directly to the app. Guitar pro and power tab work on this app. It is a great learning app for a mobile device. For just a tab viewer app,you can do some really cool things on this
It went on sale for a dollar and I purchased it regardless of the reviews. Once I had a chance to use it I found it to be the best pro tab software available. It crashes now and then but honestly I don’t mind. It has so many features including speed, instrument volumes and scrolling directions that I overlook the occasional bug. It has a tab store where you can purchase songs for a dollar. However, you can also load them into the app from the various other website that offer them. I found the purchased songs to be of higher quality. If you play any instrument: piano, guitar, drums, bass…. you owe it to yourself to get this app.
No music worth time learning unless you "BUY" extra for a dollar each, complete rip off and should inform people that this app only is for certain uses and does not have a tab library to go off of. Save your money and look into other app's if you are looking for a tool to learn songs off of.
Previous reviews say this app is just to get you to buy tabs, but this is not true! It is incredibly easy to add tabs from other sources. You can add Guitar Pro and other "rich" tabs, PDF, or even just plain text -- this is one of the best features of the app! Overall it is a fantastic way to learn new songs and keep my song book organized. Things that could be better: 1. The selection of tabs in the Agile tab store is pathetic. I'd happily pay 99 cents for a good quality tab, but there is nothing there I want; 2. It would be really nice to have better organization of tabs I've added, and to have syncing between multiple devices. But this app is worth far more than they charge and a far better value than Sonsterr or the various confusing UG apps, which make you pay a subscription fee.
